Slow Birding™ Bird Behavior Course ~ ONLINE

  • ONLINE COURSE Saint Albans, Vermont (map)

This is one of my online classes designed for folks who have previously participated in a Slow Birding™ course like the four-week Intro to Slow Birding and/or the weekend Slow Birding Retreat offered by me or through a partnering nature center or organization.

Noticing bird behavior is one of the focal points of Slow Birding. There are so many other questions to ask beyond, “What Is It?” when it comes to birding. In this four-week course, we’ll explore bird behavior in-depth, training our eyes, ears, and brain to notice what a bird is doing and tease apart the context for the behavior. This course will include 4 weekly emails, 5 weekly online discussions, and behavior-focused prompts to use at your sit spot sent mid-week through Facebook or email.

Bird Diva, Bridget Butler, will facilitate a series of weekly sessions through customized email provocations (4), live video conferencing calls (5), and mid-week prompts on the Slow Birding Facebook page. During this workshop, you’ll learn how to categorize behaviors, how to interpret what you’re observing, and how to recognize seasonal shifts in behavior. Runs for 4 weeks Monday, June 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th and bonus discussion on July 5th. All discussions at 6:30 pm EST.
