Birder’s Book Club - April 12th, 19th, 26th
Our online book club will gather 3 times in the month of April to talk about the book A Bird Lover in the West by Harriet Mann Miller [also under pen name Olive Thorne Miller] (1831-1918). She was an author, naturalist, and ornithologist who grew up in Central New York. She wrote eleven bird-themed books and numerous articles and stories for the Audubon Society. She, along with Florence Merriam Bailey and Mabel Osgood Wright, was one of the first women to be elected into membership of the American Ornithologists Union. Her work was praised for its accurate scientific observation and research.
